Cor Angar sends you to clear out the
Minecrawler Nest under the Old Mine and bring an egg back to the Swamp Camp. It is a big job: you prove yourself at the training ground, head down into the mine to win over Ian and
Lester, recruit a handful of Templar helpers, run a short errand for Ian called Cog in the Wheel, then blow the nest open and put down the
Minecrawler Queen. Expect a lot of back and forth between the Swamp Camp and the Old Mine, so a fast way to travel helps.
You will be shuttling between the Swamp Camp, the Old Mine, and the areas around them several times, so pack for a long trip.
- Plenty of healing potions.
- Food or other backup healing.
- A decent weapon.
- Good armor if you can manage it.
- A fast way to travel, such as a
scavenger mount, if you have one.
Start in the Swamp Camp and make for the training ground, following the signs marked with crossed swords. Speak to
Cor Angar there. He wants you to prove your worth by fighting one of his men,
Gor Na Drak.
Only knock
Gor Na Drak out, do not kill him. Once he gets back on his feet you are clear. Sheath your weapon before you talk to
Cor Angar again, or he will not speak to you.
Return to
Cor Angar once the fight is over.
Head for the Old Mine, up toward the top-left of the map. Go inside and follow the tracks through the first section. When you reach the open area, cross the bridge straight ahead. You can talk to the guard there if you like, but it is optional.
From the bridge, turn right and work your way down through the mine.
- Go to the far edge of the stones.
- Drop down or take the ladder.
- Head right and descend the platforms.
- At the bottom, go slightly left.
- Drop down again where the area looks blue on the left and red on the right.
- Curve right and take the ladder down.
This brings you to where you found Ian before. Remember his spot, because you come back to him more than once.
From Ian, go left and continue down the platform, then turn right, left, and left again. Keep heading down, grabbing any
ore nuggets along the way. Carry on left, left again, then right down the path. You are on track when you see a group of people sitting together and talking. Remember them, you will be back shortly.
From the seated group, turn back on yourself, go toward the guard and past him, continue down past the Orc Slave, go to the end, turn left and around, then head up to the right.
Lester is here. Speak with him and exhaust his dialogue. He asks you to round up some Templar helpers.
Go back to the seated group and talk to
Gor Na Kosh and
Gor Na Vid. Convince both of them to join you. That is your first pair of helpers.
From the seated group, head back up the ramp and climb the rocky mound toward the area with a lot of ore. You will find another pair of men up there. Talk to
Gor Na Bar; he agrees to help, but first he wants you to bring him
Minecrawler's mandibles.
Go into the cave directly behind
Gor Na Bar. There are
Minecrawlers inside, so kill them and loot the
Minecrawler's mandibles. Bring them back to
Gor Na Bar.
Sheath your weapon before you talk to him. Once he has the mandibles, he joins the group.
Now head back to Ian in the middle of the mine and exhaust his dialogue. This kicks off a connected quest, Cog in the Wheel. Ian wants a cog before he will commit to the nest plan.
Return to the cave where you fought the
Minecrawlers for
Gor Na Bar and head down to the bottom corner. Go past the guard on your right. At the back are two sets of ladders leading down.
Climb down the first ladder normally. For the second, jump down instead of climbing, since
Minecrawlers are waiting at the bottom and will hit you while you are stuck on the rungs. Kill them, then look to the right and pick up the cog.
Climb back up both ladders, return to Ian, and hand over the cog. That finishes Cog in the Wheel. Ian is pleased, but he still needs a little more convincing before the nest plan can go ahead.
Leave the mine for the surface. Near the fence outside you will find
Lester; speak with him and he leads you to a nearby waterfall where the others have gathered. There you meet
Diego,
Gorn, and Milton. Exhaust everyone's dialogue, then follow
Diego back down into the Old Mine. He helps bring Ian around.
Go all the way back down to the lower section of the mine, near where you first found
Lester. Your recruited Templars are waiting there now. Speak to the main man at the back, and a cutscene plays where a barrel explodes and opens the way into the
Minecrawler Nest.
Save before this.
Minecrawlers are waiting on the other side of the blast.
After the blast, clear the
Minecrawlers in the newly opened area and head into the cave. The route is very linear, so just keep following it forward, dealing with more
Minecrawlers as you go, until you reach the
Minecrawler Queen.
Take on the
Minecrawler Queen. She has two phases, so do not drop your guard once the first one ends. When both phases are done, loot her body.
Take the quest item from the
Minecrawler Queen, the
Minecrawler's egg. You need it to finish the quest, so do not leave without it.
Follow the same linear path back out of the cave, return through the Old Mine, and make your way up to the surface.
Travel back to the Swamp Camp and go to
Cor Kalom's laboratory. Inside, speak with
Cor Kalom and
Y'Berion and exhaust their dialogue.
Cor Kalom is pleased with the egg, and the quest concludes.
Before you wrap up, make sure you handled all of these.
- Knocked out
Gor Na Drak without killing him. - Spoke to
Lester and recruited
Gor Na Kosh,
Gor Na Vid, and
Gor Na Bar. - Collected
Minecrawler's mandibles for
Gor Na Bar. - Fetched the cog and finished Cog in the Wheel.
- Defeated the
Minecrawler Queen and looted the
Minecrawler's egg. - Returned to
Cor Kalom in the Swamp Camp.
